Goa is the default Indian holiday, and the cost question has a very wide honest answer: a week can be ₹18,000 or ₹1,20,000 per person, and the difference is almost entirely the property and the month you go.
What a Goa trip costs in 2026
A hand-built Goa trip starts at ₹18,000–₹30,000 per person for 7 nights, land only and based on two people sharing. That is roughly ₹2,500–₹4,500 per person per night.
International flights, visas and travel insurance are not included.
What that actually buys you
Hand-picked stays, with daily breakfast
All internal transport, transfers and internal flights
Private local guides and the entrance fees for listed sights
A planner on WhatsApp for the whole trip
The price excludes international flights, visa fees, travel insurance, meals not mentioned, and optional activities.
Budget, comfort or premium
Budget — from ₹12,500 – ₹21,000 for 7 nights. 3-star stays, shared transfers, a couple of paid experiences.
Comfort — from ₹18,000 – ₹30,000 for 7 nights. 4-star boutique stays, private transfers and guides, most sights included.
Premium — from ₹27,000 – ₹45,000 for 7 nights. 5-star and signature stays, private guiding throughout, flights and upgrades.
How the cost changes with trip length
5 nights — around ₹13,000 – ₹21,500 per person at the comfort level
7 nights — around ₹18,000 – ₹30,000 per person at the comfort level
10 nights — around ₹25,500 – ₹43,000 per person at the comfort level
14 nights — around ₹36,000 – ₹60,000 per person at the comfort level
Best time to visit Goa
The best window is November–February. Travelling either side of the peak weeks usually means the same weather, lower hotel rates and far fewer people at the main sights — which is the cheapest upgrade there is.
How many days do you need?
7 nights is the sweet spot for a first trip: long enough to settle in, short enough to stay affordable. Five nights works for a short break if you stay in one area. Ten to fourteen nights lets you slow down and add a second region — and because the per-night cost barely changes, the long trip is better value per day.
What actually moves the price
North Goa is busier and cheaper for the same standard; South Goa is quieter, greener and pricier, and much better for families. Christmas and New Year roughly double every rate on the coast — the same villa in the first week of December costs a third of what it costs in the last.
Ways to keep the cost down
Fly into Mopa for the north and Dabolim for the south; the transfer can cost you two hours if you pick wrong.
Avoid 20 December–5 January unless you have to; rates are at their annual peak.
Rent a scooter for the week rather than taxis — it is cheaper and the only way to see the back roads.
Beach-shack food is good and cheap; the fine-dining scene is where budgets go wrong.
