Genuinely the best week of our lives

We have travelled a fair bit and this was the first time everything simply worked. The suite in Oia was better than the photos, the private catamaran was the highlight of our honeymoon, and the restaurant they booked for our last night was a place we never would have found. The little WhatsApp updates each morning were a lovely touch.

The safari we had been dreaming about for years

Our guide Joseph could spot a leopard from a moving vehicle at half a kilometre. We saw a crossing on the Mara River on day five after two days of patient positioning, and the camp was small and genuinely comfortable. Worth every penny and then some.

Thoughtful, unhurried and deeply personal

What I appreciated most was how the pace was built for us rather than for a brochure. Two full free afternoons meant we actually got to know a neighbourhood instead of rushing between temples. The ryokan night was extraordinary.

Hard, brilliantly organised, unforgettable

The W trek is not easy and I would not want it to be. What made the difference was that every refugio booking, transfer and permit was already handled, so all we had to do was walk. The Grey Glacier boat crossing in the morning light is something I will not forget.

India, without any of the stress

I had been nervous about travelling in India with my parents. The private car and driver made it effortless, the heritage hotels were stunning, and having the same driver for eleven days meant he genuinely looked after us. My mother has not stopped talking about the desert camp.

Absolutely faultless from start to finish

Ten years married and we finally did the overwater villa. The seaplane transfer was an experience in itself, and the sandbank picnic was the most romantic thing we have ever done. The team responded to every question within minutes, even at the weekend.

Great value and a lovely mix of places

Loved that we moved between three very different parts of Bali rather than staying in one resort the whole time. The Mount Batur sunrise hike is a 3am start and I am still glad we did it. Only note is that the Uluwatu-to-airport drive on the final day is long — worth knowing in advance.

They know the coast properly

The private gozzo to Capri was worth the money — we avoided the ferry crush entirely and stopped wherever we liked. The cooking class was in an actual family kitchen, not a tourist setup. Ravello was the surprise favourite.

Perfect long weekend with the kids

We used this as a stopover and it worked beautifully. The private desert camp was far better than the group safaris we had done before, and having a free day meant the children could have a waterpark day while we relaxed. Very well judged.

Chasing the lights with an expert

Three clear nights out of eight and we saw the aurora twice properly. Our guide constantly checked the cloud map and rerouted us — on night six he drove forty minutes east and we got a full display over an empty valley. That is not something you can do on your own.

Beautifully balanced trip

The medina is intense and the mountains are the perfect antidote. Our riad was gorgeous and the cooking class taught me to make a tagine I have since made three times at home. The Atlas guesthouse was simple but the hospitality was the best of the trip.

The trek of a lifetime, superbly supported

The porters and chef on the trail were phenomenal. Reaching the Sun Gate at dawn with nobody else around, because we had started early, made all the difference. The acclimatisation days in the Sacred Valley are essential — do not skip them.
