Who we are

A small team, obsessed with the details of travel

yatrai has been designing bespoke journeys since 2026. We're not a booking website — we're the people who plan the trip, pick the stays and answer the phone when you're somewhere wonderful and need a hand.

Planners mapping a route together

Our story

It started with one badly planned trip

yatrai began on a long, wrong turn through the Atlas Mountains — the sort of day that only happens when a trip has been assembled from a template rather than imagined. We decided travel deserved better than that.

So we built an agency around a simple idea: the person planning your trip should have walked it first. Every itinerary we write is drawn from first-hand travel, refined over the years with the same guides, drivers and hoteliers we've come to trust.

We've stayed deliberately small. It means we take on fewer trips, plan them more carefully, and stay with you from the first idea right through to the flight home.

What we stand for

Four things we won't compromise on

They sound simple. In practice, they're what make a yatrai trip feel different.

Planned by humans

Every itinerary is written by a planner who has travelled the route. No templates, no copy-paste, no algorithms.

Kinder by default

Fewer flights, longer stays and local partners who share the revenue. Small choices that add up over a trip.

Genuinely local

Independent guides, family-run stays and neighbourhood restaurants you won't find on a listicle.

Honest to the end

Clear pricing, real exclusions and a named planner you can always reach. That's the whole promise.

Our partners

How we choose who we work with

The quality of a trip is set long before you arrive — by the people on the ground. We're fussy about who those people are.

  • We travel with them first. If we wouldn't send a friend, we don't send you.

  • They're local, independent and paid fairly — never a faceless megabrand.

  • They share our obsession with the small stuff: the right room, the quiet hour, the good table.

  • They answer the phone when a plan changes. Reliability beats a glossy brochure.

In their words

What travellers say afterwards

Genuinely the best week of our lives

We have travelled a fair bit and this was the first time everything simply worked. The suite in Oia was better than the photos, the private catamaran was the highlight of our honeymoon, and the restaurant they booked for our last night was a place we never would have found. The little WhatsApp updates each morning were a lovely touch.

The safari we had been dreaming about for years

Our guide Joseph could spot a leopard from a moving vehicle at half a kilometre. We saw a crossing on the Mara River on day five after two days of patient positioning, and the camp was small and genuinely comfortable. Worth every penny and then some.

Thoughtful, unhurried and deeply personal

What I appreciated most was how the pace was built for us rather than for a brochure. Two full free afternoons meant we actually got to know a neighbourhood instead of rushing between temples. The ryokan night was extraordinary.
