Europe is the trip Indian travellers save for, and the one where planning changes the price most. The difference between a well-sequenced ten days and a badly sequenced one is not the hotels — it is the trains, the cities you skip and the Schengen visa you apply for early.
What a Europe trip costs in 2026
A hand-built Europe trip starts at ₹98,000–₹1,18,000 per person for 7 nights, land only and based on two people sharing. That is roughly .
₹14,000–₹17,000 per person per night
International flights, visas and travel insurance are not included.
What that actually buys you
Hand-picked stays, with daily breakfast
All internal transport, transfers and internal flights
Private local guides and the entrance fees for listed sights
A planner on WhatsApp for the whole trip
The price excludes international flights, visa fees, travel insurance, meals not mentioned, and optional activities.
Budget, comfort or premium
Budget — from ₹69,000 – ₹83,000 for 7 nights. 3-star stays, shared transfers, a couple of paid experiences.
Comfort — from ₹98,000 – ₹1,18,000 for 7 nights. 4-star boutique stays, private transfers and guides, most sights included.
Premium — from ₹1,47,000 – ₹1,77,000 for 7 nights. 5-star and signature stays, private guiding throughout, flights and upgrades.
How the cost changes with trip length
5 nights — around ₹70,000 – ₹84,000 per person at the comfort level
7 nights — around ₹98,000 – ₹1,18,000 per person at the comfort level
10 nights — around ₹1,40,000 – ₹1,69,000 per person at the comfort level
14 nights — around ₹1,96,000 – ₹2,36,000 per person at the comfort level
Best time to visit Europe
The best window is April–June and September–October. Travelling either side of the peak weeks usually means the same weather, lower hotel rates and far fewer people at the main sights — which is the cheapest upgrade there is.
How many days do you need?
7 nights is the sweet spot for a first trip: long enough to settle in, short enough to stay affordable. Five nights works for a short break if you stay in one area. Ten to fourteen nights lets you slow down and add a second region — and because the per-night cost barely changes, the long trip is better value per day.
What actually moves the price
Four countries in ten days is a coach tour, not a holiday. Two countries, three cities, is the itinerary that feels generous. The single best money decision is flying into one city and home from another, which removes an entire wasted travel day and often costs the same.
Ways to keep the cost down
Apply for the Schengen visa 6–8 weeks ahead; appointment slots, not the visa fee, are the bottleneck from India.
High-speed rail booked 60–90 days ahead is half the walk-up price.
Apartment stays with a kitchen cut the food bill sharply in Switzerland and Scandinavia.
Shoulder season — late April, May, September, early October — has the same weather and 20–30% lower rates.
