Iceland is a small country with an outsized landscape. The Ring Road circles the island in about 1,300 kilometres, passing glaciers, geysers, hot springs and waterfalls at almost every exit.
In winter the aurora becomes the main draw, and short daylight hours pair well with ice caves and geothermal lagoons. In summer, the sun barely sets and the highlands open up for trekking in Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk.
